The self-drilling screw is a kind of wood screw, which is mainly used for fixing the steel tile of the steel structure, and can also be used for fixing the thin plate of the simple building.

Drilling screws can be divided into many types according to their use, materials and shapes.

Drilling screws can be divided into national standard GB/T, German standard DIN, Japanese standard JIS, and international standard ISO according to the implementation standards. According to the use and shape, it can be divided into Phillips pan head self-drilling self-tapping screws, cross recessed countersunk head self-drilling self-tapping screws, cross recessed countersunk head self-drilling self-tapping screws, hexagonal flange self-drilling self-tapping screws, hexagonal convex Self-drilling self-tapping screws.

Drilling screws are divided into steel 1022A, stainless steel 410, stainless steel 304 according to the material.

  1. Carbon steel self-drilling screw, 1022A, standard heat-treated steel can be used as material for drilling screw. After surface treatment, surface hardness is HV560-750, core hardness is HV240-450, ordinary surface treatment is easy to rust, hardness is high, and cost is low. .

2, stainless steel drill tail screw, 410, heat treatment, anti-rust ability is better than carbon steel, worse than stainless steel.

3, stainless steel self-drilling screws, 304, can not be heat-treated, strong anti-rust ability, low hardness, high cost, can only drill aluminum, wood, rubber sheet.

4, composite drill tail screw, the drill bit is produced by carbon steel, the thread and the head are combined with 304 stainless steel.

The tail of the drill tail screw is drill tail or pointed tail, no need for auxiliary processing, drilling, tapping and locking directly on the setting material and base material, which greatly saves construction time. Compared with ordinary screws, the drilling screw has high toughness and maintaining force, and the long time after combination is not loose. It is safe to punch and tap once, and the operation is simple.

How to properly install the drill-tail screws:

  1. Stainless steel drill tail screws require special electric drill (recommended power 600W).
  2. Adjust the positioner of the drill to the proper position to ensure that the screw is drilled to the correct position. Check the drill speed:

When using the screw of 3.5 (6#); 3.9 (7#); 4.2 (8#); 4.8 (10#), ensure that the speed of the drill is between 1800 and 2500 rpm.

When using 5.5 (12#); 6.3 (14#) of 410 screws; ensure that the electric drill speed is 1000-1800 rev / min;

When using the 3.5 (6#); 3.9 (7#); 4.2 (8#); 4.8 (10#) 304 screws, ensure that the electric drill speed is 1500-2000 rev / min;

When using the 5.5 (12#); 6.3 (14#) 410 screws, ensure that the drill speed is 1000-1500 rpm.

  1. Select the appropriate sleeve or crosshead to install on the drill; then connect the screws.
  2. The screw and electric drill must be perpendicular to the surface of the profiled steel plate during installation; and click on the power switch; create a center point.
  3. Apply a force of about 13 kg to the drill by hand; ensure that the force is on the same vertical line as the center point.
  4. Turn on the power switch; do not stop midway; stop the drill quickly after the screw is in place (to prevent the under-drilling from being in place and excessive drilling).
